Wren

Birth is wild! Hailey had weeks and days of prodromal labor. But it would always fade out and then wait a few days and start back up. But when her water broke she knew Wren would be coming in the next 24 hours or so.

So once at the hospital around noon with not strong contractions, but coming a few minutes apart we tried some things to get contractions to pick up and get stronger. I hung out for a bit then headed home to try to let them rest.

I came back in the afternoon to try the miles circuit, they are the first three pictures below! Although the eating honey was a added perk since her husband brought the whole jar!

However things seemed to slow down around 11 that night. So I decided to go home again to try to rest and she was going to try to rest too.

Baby had other plans, right after I got home and into bed she called me back saying to “come quick!”

So I quickly rushed back to the hospital at about 11:30 and once I got there she was very clearly in active labor and transitioning! I of course got stuck behind a train, and had to go through the medal detector trying to rush back as quick as I could!

Baby was born about 45 minutes after I got back!

She delivered her baby on hands and knees and then baby was still attached to cord and handed through moms legs so she could meet her!

Dad got to do some skin to skin after baby was weighted and mom nursed her in the golden hour!
